Where's My Fright Night??

I have a dilemma.  I LOVE horror movies. Which, with all sincerity, is not a big deal. But I find it is increasingly harder and harder to find people who enjoy a good horror movie.

For instance, yesterday the new version of "Fright Night" opened. I would have given anything to find someone to go with me to that movie. Sure, the egyptian used to be the one to go - but it's Ramadan, and he prefers to spend time with his other middle eastern friends in the evenings, celebrating and what not.

So here I am - stuck without a horror movie buddy. Most of the girls I know are.. and I totally mean this ... TOO SCARED to go. LOL

From the Original Fright Night
I've always loved a good scary movie. The eerier, the scarier - the better. Fright Night originally was a a so-so scary movie. As a kid, it did freak me out a bit, but oh how I love a good vampire movie. Honestly, the story line was perfect. Sort of takes your worse fear and brings it to life. Imagine your new neighbor starts bringing home guests who you never see leave. Turns out HE is a vampire... who just so happens to make friends with your mom, who makes the biggest mistake of "inviting him in." Of course, it is the total Hollywood version/legend of the blood sucker. It had some humorous parts, and some scary parts... all in all was one of my faves.

The newer version made an interesting choice for the vampire - Colin Farrell.  Don't flip out, but I am not a big fan of Mr. Farrell's, BUT from what I am reading, he did a really good job in this role.

Of course, I will have to take the critic's word on this one.. since... I can't seem to find anyone to go with me. ;-)

Here is a look at the trailer from the original Fright Night:

Here is the NEW Trailer:

Perhaps this will be the perfect treat to myself on Sunday. PS - I hear it is in 3d!

I am not the horror movie kind of friend . . . but I manage to muster up enough courage to go with a bunch of my neighbors each fall (usually around Halloween). I swear, they bring me along for comic relief, though, because I usually sit with butter smudged napkins tucked into my eye glasses (to block out the sight), my fingers in my ears (to block out the noise) and rock back and forth in the seat all while humming "On the Good Ship Lollipop."

Yes, I am the comic relief!

I actually think I am going to see "The Help" tonight . . . with (or without) PG!!!! Can't wait!

Were I still a teenager, I would go with you. But for some reason, I can no longer stand to watch scary movies. And it's not that I don't like them, I just can't take the physical angst I feel when I watch them. They scare me more now than when I was younger.

But my 13 year old daughter LOVES any and all scary movies and after watching this trailer, she can't wait 'til it comes out down here. :)

I am a love of scary flicks, too. Although, these days, I am NOT going to waste money on these not-so-scary-scary-movies!

Hey Nicole, I'm totally into horror movies, except the new ones always seem to be too bloody. I typically like paranormal or nonfictional. Just saying... I'd love to go sometime!
