Balance

A challenge our dear friend Leanne at From Chaos Comes Happiness (see her button at the bottom right hand side of my page) posed was for many of us to come up with a theme for the year. A personal word to follow/incorporate. I FINALLY chose my word...

BALANCE.

This is something I need to incorporate in my life. I swear - it seems I have excellent days then super crappy days, and I need to learn how to be a little more even keel.

I will find that with BALANCE.

I think if I find balance I will end up living more authentically and not allowing my high emotions to rule my life. I swear, the older I get - the more "emotional" I get.. something that was unheard of as a child. Lately I wear my heart on my sleeve, and even though it has made me kinder in certain arenas, the truth is - I need a little shell of armour. With that.. balance. I can still be me, yet create that sense of calm that is needed.

I saw a painting recently that read "Keep Calm and Carry On."

With balance... I can do just that.

I need balance, as well. I feel like my life is always so off kilter. The past several days for me have been crummy ones, and I've been forced to look at myself in ways I've tried to keep hidden. I've seen parts of my soul that I'm starting to question, and it makes me sad. I don't want to be this disengaged person that I'm always allowing myself to slip into. Hopefully we can both start finding some balance soon.

visiting from LBS! Thank YOU for stopping by my blog.

BALANCE-ugh! Does is really exist?? One thing I have learned thus far from the Brits (I'm an American) is quality of life..they take actual christmas breaks..ALL OF THEM..if the sun is out..shop is closed. Slow is good, and quantity is not always quality..simple full lives.

What a concept.

Hugs from Across The Pond,
Meg

We've spent all year getting balance into our lives and it's actually become our mantra. Simplicity and balance have transformed us...well, they've made Hubby much more fun to live with. Good luck because it's difficult to find it with busy lives and families....a little time out occassionally will help.
By the way I'm one of those lucky Brits who gets loads of time off so it's probably easier for me.

BRILLIANT!!!! JUST BRILLIANT! I couldn't think of a better word, my dear friend. And while this whole thing is a process for ones self, I love learning about what others focus will be! I think this is a great word, Nicole!

Balance is a must. When I find myself in need of balance, the first thing I do to help me get there is breathe. Deep breaths in and out. Makes a huge difference. (LBS Tea Partygoer)

Interesting. I think the older I get, the more calm I become. But I love your ideas on balance. You should totally take Oprah's spot with your wise ways.

I hope you find some balance in your life. And when you do, please let me know how I can, too :)

I like that European way of life that Megan describes above. It's definitely something that we should all incorporate into our lives more.
