This - That and Whatever.

"Chaos is a name for any order that produces confusion in our minds." ~George Santayana

That picture to the left is me. With my doll, my dad's pipe and my chair. What you don't see is my Dad's chair right next to mine. I suppose I was trying to be like my Dad. Sitting in my chair, with my pipe, holding the baby.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

As an adult, I am not a big fan of going along with the herds. Which is why I am not freaking out about the whole Blogger fiasco.

Like everyone else, I thought it was just me at first. I have a few friends ask - "Hey, can you get into Blogger?" We all figured out no - and that they were fixing a maintenance issue. Okay. Just be patient and move on.

All of this is just dribble anyway....

I have been anxiously awaiting this weekend! Another - Staycation, if you will! Good stuff planned - Zumba, Swimming, Hair Appointment, Visiting with my former Flamenco Instructor, and possibly seeing the movie, Thor. :-) I would insert a big smile if I had the energy to download one. lol

Updates: Plants are GROWING. I have one that has red flowers on it, and they are beautiful. I promise to talk photos tomorrow.

Work is going.

The egyptian is fine. Oh, I do have a funny story. Sooo.. as I was waiting for him to get off work from the Islamic Academy (where he works,) I was busy checking Urban Spoon on my Iphone to get the latest on this taco joint I was about to head to. Suddenly, I look up and see him walking toward me with a woman wearing the full Islamic garb. I roll down the window, knowing he is about to introduce me (I really should have gotten out - I was just thrown off a little.) Here stood this super sweet lady, with bright blue eyes and fair skin like me. (I have no idea what color hair, she was wearing her hijab.) She introduces herself and says, 'I just had to meet you. I am a country girl too. Don't be thrown off by these other women, come on in from time to time. I always tell people, I am a redneck Muslim." Then she laughes this adorable laugh.

Now.. you have to imagine the above in the sweetest southern accent. I was just tickled, but shot the egyptian a look.

Guess why?

Country?

Me?

What?

Later, in the car, I asked him, "Do you think I am country?" He answered, "Sure. There's nothing wrong with that."

I stopped dead in my tracks.

Are you freaking kidding me?

LOL

I guess you have to know me to understand why I was floored.

Oh well.. it was funny.. regardless. I met a (and I quote) redneck muslim. LOL That's a new one for me. ;-)

Well - I have a date with Netflix. I am about to make a cup of coffee, and enjoy a little cinema. I just finished watching "Whip It." Was ADORABLE. I have always loved roller skating, and here was roller derby. I love strong (tough) women - and it was perfect. There is a roller derby team in Birmingham called the "Tragic City Rollers." Luckily they have a match on the 26th,  I would love to get some people to go with me. We'll see how that goes!

Last night, I watched "Mugabe and the White African." It is a documentary about a white farmer living in Zimbabwe. You HAVE to see it. Just watch it, and let me know what you think. It's about 1 hr and 45 mins long.

Okay... nighty night! :-)

PS - Looking forward to Zumba - here is one of the latest dances I have learned... found a video with the choreography and song! Every once in a while, we learn a dance to a song that I just love. :-)

There is nothing wrong with being a little country. However, a Redneck Muslim? That is AWESOME! At least I think it's awesome that she refers to herself that way.

Enjoy the staycation. I'll be having my own soon too.

I loved Whip It too..great movie. I hear Thor is bad but may see it anyway. Just saw Bridesmaids tonight and LOVED it. I'll have to add Mugabe and the white african to my netflix list next!

Just watching Zumba wears me out..can't imagine doing it.

Holly Diane - Zumba is exhausting, but FUN! Let me know what you think of the movie - it is great!

Haven't gotten up the nerve to try Zumba, but I keep hearing people say how fun it is. Maybe I should step outside of the box and go for it. Then again, I did that with flamenco and hated it. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY Zumba is much better!
