Then I realized - I never really told you about HIM. You know... the egyptian. Sure, you hear me rant or rave. But let me tell you a little about where he is from, and what that world even looks like. To the left you see a picture of the egyptian and I in front of the Great Pyramid in Egypt. This was taken November 14, 2007. It was hot, it was dusty, and it was all a little overwhelming. Oh.. but oh soooo exciting.
A LOT has happened since then. But I must admit this - my time in Egypt, remains TO THIS DAY - the happiest time of my entire life. I kid you not. I never felt more relaxed, at peace, happy, loved, safe... I can't come up with enough descriptive words to describe how marvelous this country is.
I would like for you to take a few minutes and watch this video. I think it does a great job of illustrating the basics of Egypt. I am a visual learner, myself - perhaps you could benefit from this also.
It is sincerly a beautiful country, and the people are the most hospitable. I want to share a few photos with you of my travels:
One of the most remarkable things to me was the call to prayer 5 times a day. Simply - AMAZING. I found a perfect video that will one - let you experience it (in Alexandria, where my husband is from) and to see the streets of Alex.
I don't know about you, but if that was my first time seeing the "real" Egypt I would want MORE! I found another excellent video that would show you exactly what I saw and how things works. This video is from the streets of Alexandria.
As you know it is the end of Ramadan as of today! Happy EID! I tried to explain Ramadan in an earlier post - but as always, I found a video! It's short - please watch it, and it is good quality!
Finally, I hope you enjoyed this little trip to the middle east. I will leave you with a little more "culture" if you will!

Nicole, I lived in Egypt for almost 8 years, so I know how much one can fall in love with it and its people. You should know though that, technically, Egypt is part of the Near East, not the Middle East.
I have always wanted to go to Egypt and now want to do so more than ever!
