I could not be any happier about it being FRIDAY!
My hope for the weekend is rest and relaxation.
Hopefully the sun will cooperate and I can actually go to the pool and just lose myself in a good book, swim a little and listen to my ipod.
On my search for some summer reading, I decided to do something a little different. I stopped by the Salvation Army.
Unfortunately the pickings were slim - but for $2.47, I was able to purchase 3 books.
I bought "Cold Sassy Tree" by Olive Ann Burns; "Gifts From the Sea" by Jane Goodger; and 'Summer Sisters" by Judy Blume (yes! THAT Judy Blume.)
I have not started any of these books. I recently pulled one of the books off my mantle to re-read. I am working on "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy. Yes.. I know.. it's a loooooooong story. However, I have this rule - if I start a book, I have to finish it.
I am also reading a new "spiritual book." I am not your traditional "devotional" type of girl. I have a book called "Spiritual Classics"and it is edited by Foster & Griffen. There are amazing works by St. Augustine, Thomas Merton, Thomas More.. and even a little Tolstoy! My deal with myself is to read one classic a day. Just to "feed" my spirit.
I began Weight Watchers today. (Like how I slipped that in.) Yep. I am going to use my Mediterranean Diet on the program. I really want to drop a few for the summer. I also called a dance studio in town to get some prices on a few Latin Cardio classes. I figure if I mix the dance classes with the personal training, add the weight watchers - perhaps I can have a winning combination.
I have decided to pick one goal a day - today, simply to drink PLENTY of water.
Also, I am getting ready to try to ween myself off caffeine. Not today.. but it is time. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Sorry for the ramble.. today was more journalesque. But I like to believe that we might all be on the same ride! :-)

I don't remember it very well, but I remember really liking Cold Sassy Tree. There's a new book by Sara Gruen (Water for Elephants I'm curious about, but will probably see if I can get it at the library or wait for paperback! Happy reading!
Thanks for sharing Margo!
