Company is Coming!

Oh me, oh my!

As I was scanning through my news feed today on the google/blogger reader, I noticed a Twitter party announcement one of the little writing clubs I follow is hosting. Then, as I was scanning the details (to see if it is something I would enjoy) - I noticed that they had the list of the paired writers for the "writing partner" project they are doing.

I began scanning the list, and lo and behold - there I was (close to the bottom) and I am paired up with another blogger. At first I did not understand how they paired us (based just on our blog titles.) She is a mommy, and we all know that mommyhood is not exactly a "hood" I plan to live in. But then I did a little more snooping - and visited her blog. Excellent writer, and the post I read were stories of the time she spent with her grandmother. The way she recollected the experiences, and the way she admires the family past - I knew then and there this was one quality writer (and person!)

I left my little message introducing myself, and quickly came back here. Uh - oh - perhaps company is coming! She might be checking out my blog as I type this. What will she think? Will she head back to the RDC and say, "No Way!" I mean.. the last 15 or so posts deal with some heavy stuff.

I kind of view blog hops like company is coming over. But you just had a pipe burst and there is no hiding it. ;-)

Our blogs are sort of like that. Little homes where we store our memories, our hopes & dreams, our fears and the details of our little lives. We hope people visit again. We hope they like us. But to be perfectly honest - it's all here. Just like when the company comes over, and you have to run out for milk - they get to plunder through your medicine cabinet.
