I was sent the following questionnaire from a Betsy in Michigan. She thought it would be interesting to read my answers. Okay, Betsy, here you go:
Part 1: The Basics
What is your full name? Nicole. (That's all you really need to know. ;-) )
Where and when were you born? I was born on February 16th in Macon, Georgia.
Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) My mom's name is Mae and my dad's name is Jack.
Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? I have one sister, her name is Heather.
Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people. I live in Macon, about a mile or so from Downtown. I live in an urban area, not suburban.
What is your occupation? I am a Director of Sales & Marketing for a museum.
Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. I am short, between 5'1 and 5'2 (on a good day.) I am.. and I hate to say this.. but I'm "chubby." I do have one tattoo. Typically, people never see it. I am white. I have really dark brown hair and light blue eyes.
To which social class do you belong? I'm not sure how to answer this one. I grew up in a middle class family. I am college educated. I run in a wide variety of circles.
Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? I battle hypertension. I have seasonal allergies.
Are you right- or left-handed? Right
What does your voice sound like? It's sort of semi-deep for a girl. I have a dry sense of humor, so my tone may be similar.
What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? "Who does that?" "Are you serious?" and as all good southeners say, "Bless their heart."
What do you have in your pockets? Nothing. I have on yoga pants.
Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Sure. But I'm not telling you.
Part 2: Growing Up
How would you describe your childhood in general? Happy. I had a great imagination.
What is your earliest memory? An Easter egg hunt in Indiana. I described the experience to my mom once, and she told me I was about 2 years old.
How much schooling have you had? I have a bachelor's degree.
Did you enjoy school? I LOVED school.
Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities? Between school and on the job. Really, just life experience was the best teacher.
While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them. Not so much. Unless you count Wonder Woman.
While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? I had a terrible relationship with my mother. I was very close to my grandparents on my mom's side.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? From 5 - 10 I wanted to be a professional ballet dancer. Then from 10 - 12 I wanted to be an actress.Then from 12 - college I wanted to be a journalist.
As a child, what were your favorite activities? I enjoyed my dance classes, swimming, and writing.
As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display? I was super shy at first. Then very talkative.
As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like? I would say I was very unpopular in elementary and middle school. Bordering dorky. Things completely changed by the time I got to high school and college. I hung out with the "cool" kids. Not the trashy cool kids, but the smart, "best all around" cool kids.
When and with whom was your first kiss? A boy named Richard. I was in the 8th grade.
Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity? Definitely still a virgin. ;-)
If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
umm.. did you seriously just ask me that?
Part 3: Past Influences
What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? I have not had that defining moment, really. So many little things have led me to where I am now.
Who has had the most influence on you? My parents. My grandparents. Certain friends. Certain managers.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Still working on that one. Sure, I've won awards and yes, I've done some pretty great things work wise... but I think my greatest achievement should be personal. Not sure what I would consider as GREAT.
What is your greatest regret? Not continuing to dance.
What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Probably telling a lie. Yeah, that's about as evil as I get. Oh yeah.. and I have hurt people's feelings.
Do you have a criminal record of any kind? No way.
When was the time you were the most frightened? Probably by a nightmare as a child.
What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you? NOT going there. (It would embarass me.)
If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? Not staying in shape.
What is your best memory? SOO many... every day has something wonderful in it.
What is your worst memory? Losing my job. When my husband asked for a divorce. Etc. Etc. Anytime a massive change in course for my life took place without me having much say in it.
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Optimistic.
What is your greatest fear? Death
What are your religious views? Catholic
What are your political views? Moderate. Liberal. Independent.
What are your views on sex? On with someone you love, and you should be at least 18 and use contraceptives.
Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? No way, no how.
In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? Kill another. Break their heart. Lie.
Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? Yes.
What do you believe makes a successful life? Your level of contentment and ability to make the world a better place.
How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I am honest HERE. If you met me on the street, I don't typically share.
Do you have any biases or prejudices? I do not like people who are closed minded. Or pompous.
Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Yes - I will not go base jumping. ;-)
Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Maybe my niece.
Part 5: Relationships With Others
In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? I am generally polite. Yes, it depends on how well I know someone.
Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Right now - my niece and my husband. (Though the latter will change soon - when and if he decides to leave.)
Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My elders.
Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I have friends. I have close friends. I would like to think I have a BFF, but I don't think anyone considers me their BFF.. so I just have close friends.
Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person. Yes.
Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened. Yes.
What do you look for in a potential lover? Kindness. Humor. Intelligence.
How close are you to your family? Sort of , kind of, not really.
Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not? No kids.
Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help? My parents, my friends.
Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? No.
If you died or went missing, who would miss you? Maybe for a few weeks people would miss me.. but honestly, they would get over it. WHAT THE HELL TYPE OF QUESTION IS THIS? ARE YOU PLANNING ON KIDNAPPING ME? CREEPY. ;-)
Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Not answering that.
Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I'll argue. I'll avoid. But mostly argue.
Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? Yep
Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Yep
Do you care what others think of you? Sort of, kind of , not really.
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes? Writing, reading, watching movies, travel, photography, dancing, shopping.
What is your most treasured possession? My crucifix that belonged to my granny.
What is your favorite color? Blue
What is your favorite food? so many!
What, if anything, do you like to read? YES
What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)? movies
Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit? NO
How do you spend a typical Saturday night? going out to eat with friends, going to some cultural thing.
What makes you laugh? People.
What, if anything, shocks or offends you? Ignorance.
What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself? What I do every night.. NETFLIX.
How do you deal with stress? Hot bath.
Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan? Both
What are your pet peeves? I think I have several blog posts on these.
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted? I get up. I get ready. I kick ass. I come home. I crash.
What is your greatest strength as a person? Intelligent.
What is your greatest weakness? Weight.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Be in better shape.
Are you generally introverted or extroverted? Extroverted.
Are you generally organized or messy? A little bit of both. More like an organized mess.
Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at. I am good at - writing. talking. photography. I am bad at math. running. cleaning the bathtub.
Do you like yourself? Hell, yeah.
What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...) HUH?
What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? I just want to know my life made a difference.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Not sure. Big changes are coming.
If you could choose, how would you want to die? By not dying.
If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left. Tell people how they have affected my life. Hop a plane to Greece.
What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? My passion.
What three words best describe your personality? Fun. Straight forward. Smart.
What three words would others probably use to describe you? She's a bitch. lol
