The single worst thing about traveling is eating out. The single best thing about traveling is eating out.
Just wait - I left my USB cord at home. I have been taking pics of the food I am eating... geez.. scary.
Which got me to thinking about choosing healthier options. Each restaurant I choose to eat at, and sure they are more than likely tourist traps, had ZERO healthy options. TRULY healthy options.
I have two more days of travel. I am in Fairhope today (did I mention, charming??) and heading to New Orleans.
More food.. more options..
Can I just stop eating?? ;-)
your first steps to becoming a food critic
ReplyDeleteAfter about 2 days of traveling all I want is a kitchen to eat a home cooked meal... Hope your at least enjoying the culinary experience.
ReplyDeleteOOOH I agree with Becca. With the traveling and food tasting you could indeed become a good critic! Enjoy the dining out; soon you will be back home.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to eat all that at first and then the thrill starts to wear off. When I get home form a trip the first thing I do is head out to the grocery store for green stuff!
ReplyDeleteWe tend to eat very leanly when we travel; what makes things a bit more challenging are food intolerances. So, we also bring some foods with us such as crackers, etc. We also hit grocery stores or a health food store [when available] and prepare a picnic-style meal. Best of luck staying healthy on your trip!
ReplyDeleteFairhope is a beautiful little city. have fun! :)
ReplyDeleteAww...c'mon...you can't stop eating!! We need to see all those lovely, unhealthy dishes you've had.
ReplyDeleteI AM SO JEALOUS!! New Orleans?! *whimper* I wish I could go.
ReplyDeleteEat some gumbo for me while you're there.
