What is it about Fridays that just make us all take a deep, peaceful breath? The mood is jovial, the dress casual, the intention - frivolity.
I do enjoy a good Friday. I remember when I was a little kid, Friday meant I could get up early the next morning, watch my cartoons and play outside. (Which btw, I was never inside ... even in the winter. )
When I was in middle school, Friday meant I would figure out which friend I would spend the night with, and we would go to the mall or movies and "walk around." It meant I could sleep in late and talk on the phone all day.
In high school, it meant I would have to figure out which party to go to, and align up my date for the weekend. Sleeping late, staying up late - it was all a part of the culture.
College and early adulthood meant trying to figure out which club we were going to hit up. Definitely sleeping late.
Now.. it means a lighter work load at work, and I would like to think I would be able to sleep later, but because my body is used to waking up around 7am, I tend to pop right up a little earlier than I would like.
Still - Friday brings the promise of fun. Endless possibilities.
Heck, I was even born on a Friday!
Friday is my favorite day too. I think it is the anticipation of the weekend that is actually more fun than the actual weekend.
ReplyDeleteI too spent too much time in malls as a teenager. Do malls even exist anymore?
I love Fridays because that means I get 2 full days with the hubby. Not working these days means I get plenty of alone time...
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about today because we are going out to dinner and then to get our tree and decorate it!
ReplyDeleteFriday is the day I get all my crap done. Laundry, grocery shopping, etc. But it's better than having to worry about school like all the other days :)
